When Anna Reid came in she did a number of things with us.One of the things she did with us was this really weird thing to do with oil and food colouring. She gave us a jar and filled it with water almost to the top. Next we put some cooking oil on top of the water and we put few drops of different colour food colouring in. She gave us crushed up sugar and told us drop it right on the food colouring. The sugar changed colour and then disolved. Then we put in more food colouring and poked it with cocktail sticks.It was a fun day.
We put food colouring in all the flowers. When we put in purple the petals turned purple and blue. We tried carnations but they didn't work so well.Then we tried Chrysanthemums and they worked better. Anyway,when we tried to turn them blue,they just turned blue and purple again! The green made it dye the petals green, but the red made it pinky purple. None of the Carnations worked well, so we got some chrysanthemums ,and they worked out much better.With the Chrysanthemum,it worked much better and that was the best we could do! Eventually,most colours worked...



Party Trick - How to pick up ice.
We all got a jar filled with water. Then we put an ice cube into it. Put some salt on the ice. Get some string. Then leave the string on for about a minute. Then pull the string up. For some students it didn’t work for others it did work.
