Charity Breakfast Walk

The children of St. Joseph's national school participated in a charity event called “The Breakfast Walk”. The walk involved walking from the Old Kilcullen Tower back to the school. The parents were allowed to participate as well. There used to be a tunnel that stretched from the Old Kilcullen to Kilcullen town. There was a Garda car following us the whole way (no one was arrested!!!). We all managed to make it with very, very sore legs!

All the requirements for the morning were sponsored. Wright's Village Butcher Shop in Narraghmore sponsored all the meat (loads of sausages and rashers), milk, eggs, bread, beans and chocolate milk. Eurospar, Kilcullen sponsored everything else we needed.( tea, coffee, butter, jam, fruit, cereal, plastic cutlery, fruit juice, napkins and olive oil). Thanks to both shops for helping to make this such a successful morning.

On Wednesday December the 17 we got a bus to Barrettstown Camp. When we got there it was very colourful with all sorts of interesting things. There was children at the camp.
Barrettstown Camp is only for sick children. The children there used to be in hospitals until Barrettstown Camp open. We supported Barrettstown Camp this year and presented them with a check for 230euro. Barrettstown Camp has a huge theatre and a giants tar, art room and little cottages to sleep in.
